After a drive at Fakirapool area in Dhaka, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has seized expired vaccine for rabies. During the same drive, expired antibiotics and animal vaccines were found.
RAB-2 carried out the drive at the Advance Animal Science Company Limited at Fakirarpool on Monday (Aug 27).
At this time, expired rabies and bird flu vaccines were found in the cold storage. The company had been repacking the vaccines and selling them by providing false extensions.
RAB Executive Magistrate Sarwar Alam handed two years prison sentence to the executive director of the organisation and two others with a fine of Tk 7.5 million.
During the drive, departments of livestock and medicine administration assisted the mobile court.
Sarwar Alam says that expired medicines worth Tk 100 milion were also confiscated from the organisation.
Using such expired medicines, many farmers have become penniless, added Alam.
