Customs intelligence has recovered an SUV estimated to be worth Tk 50 million found abandoned on a street in Dhaka with an anonymous letter in it.
The 2013 Toyota Land Cruiser V8, with no registration plates on it, was found on Road 112 of the upscale neighbourhood of Gulshan.
“I have left this car on my own accord. But I was not the importer of this car. I request the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) to bring the importer to justice. I respect the country’s law.” the note read.
It also lauded the customs intelligence for its activities.
CIID Director General Md Shahidul Islam said the vehicle, with an engine capacity of 4608cc, cost around Tk 50 million, including taxes.
