The driver of a Dishari Paribahan-operated bus, which ran over a private university student in Dhaka, has been arrested on Wednesday.
On Monday, 23-year-old Masud Rana, who went to the Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT), died in the capital’s Mirpur.
The bus rammed the rickshaw, which was carrying the final-year Business Administration student, from behind and ran over Rana before fleeing the scene.
Police arrested driver Md Hamid alias Munna from Laxmipur town early on Wednesday, said BUBT VC Md Abu Saleh.
BUBT students, who had taken to the streets, have called of their demonstrations soon after the news of the arrest came.
Munna, who is being brought to Dhaka, will be produce before the court in the case filed over the accident, said local Shah Ali police OC Md Anwar Hossain.
