Two suspects in cable operator Farhad Hossain murder case was killed in a ‘gunfight’ with police detectives in capital’s Badda area early Thursday.
The dead were identified as Nurul Islam alias Killer Sunny and Dada Amit.
A team of Detective Branch (DB) of police conducted a drive at Satarkul area as a part of regular exercise around 2am on Thursday, said Mashiur Rahman, deputy commissioner of DB.
Police were engaged in a ‘gun battle’ with the criminals between 4am to 5am. Later, the lawmen found the bullet-hit bodies of the duo on the spot and rushed to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors called them dead, he added.
Police suspected that the deceased Sunny physically took part in the Farhad Hossain killing mission according to the video footage and the details provided by the locals.
We learnt that another suspect Amit backed the killing. Efforts are on to glean details of them, Mashiur Rahman told Bangla Tribune.
