Dhaka South Mayor Sayeed Khokon has said that the ongoing dengue crisis is likely to be under control by the first week of September.
His remarks came on Thursday (Aug 1) while distributing free aerosols at Viqarunnisa Noon School and College in Dhaka.
“The health ministry has marked seven of our wards as most risky. We have deployed most of our resources there,” he said.
“We hope that by the first week of September, we will win the war against dengue,” he added.
The mayor said that buildings under construction are home to Aedes mosquito larvae and that DSCC was conducting mobile court drives in those places.
“The number of dengue patients is increasing everyday which is a matter of concern.”
According to the mayor they found mosquito larvae at 547 homes and 68 mobile medical teams at 57 words were providing medical care at 450 spots.
