It is widely known that in recent times, new communication system and digital technology has made massive changes in our daily lives.
It is evident that cybercrime has been one of the fastest growing areas of crime with the rise of internet usage in Bangladesh.
Cases such as central and private bank hacking, cyber-financial frauds, cyber money-laundering, etc are few of the most common cyber related crimes that are accelerating in the country leading to cybercrimes being reported every day.
In this backdrop, KOICA in cooperation with Bangladesh Police has been supporting Bangladesh Police, CID through its bilateral projects and fellowship programmes to develop capacity building plan for cybercrime investigation and create strategic mechanisms.
Moreover, it attempts to strengthen practical improvement initiatives and international cooperative strategies against specific cybercrimes.
Approximately, 50 officials from Bangladesh Police have received hands-on training through various practices in practical investigation together with in–depth theoretical knowledge from Korean National Police University in Korea.
