Police have been given five days to quiz quota reformist leader Rashed Khan in custody.
The joint convener of the 'The Council for the Preservation of Bangladesh General Students’ Rights’ was produced in court on Monday (Jul 2), when police pleaded for a 10-day remand.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Raihanul Islam, however, granted five days.
On Sunday, police arrested Rashed from the city’s Mirpur area after a central leader of Bangladesh Chatra League (BCL) filed a case with Shahbag police under ICT Act.
Rashed stands accused of slandering the prime minister on social media as well as attempting to incite students.
'The Council for the Preservation of Bangladesh General Students’ Rights’ has long been staging demonstration demanding reform to the quota system in government job.
