Police have arrested Rashed Khan, joint convener of the 'The Council for the Preservation of Bangladesh General Students’ Rights’ which has been leading the anti-quota protests, said police .
He was detained from the capital's Mirpur on Sunday in a case filed with Shahbag police under ICT Act, said DMP Additional Assistant Police Commissioner (Media) Obaidur Rahman.
A central committee leader of Bangladesh Chatra League (BCL) Al Nahian Khan filed the case on Sunday, said the OC Shahbag Police Station.
Rashed stands accused of slandering the prime minister on social media as well as attempting to incite students.
