The airport police have detained two Biman Bangladesh staffers with 4 kilograms of gold at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.
Airport Armed Police Battalion (APBN) arrested the two traffic helpers: Emdad Hossain Chowdhury, 46, and Abdur Rahim, 35 on Saturday (Jul 13).
“A Thai Airways flight landed at Dhaka at 12:45 pm. Some baggage went to the import cargo from where Emdad, aided by Abdur Rahim took the gold in their possession,” said APBN Additional Superintendent of Police (Operation and Media) Alamgir Hossain.
According to Alamgir the seized gold bars have an estimated market value of Tk 20 million.
