Eminent community leader and an organiser of liberation war movement in 1971 Moulana Izzat has died.

He was suffering from old-age complication and breathed his last at his London residence on Jun 25. He was 95.

He left behind his wife, seven sons, three daughters and relatives to mourn his death.

Izzat was born in Biyanibazar in Sylhet and migrated to the United Kingdom in 1962.

He was a freedom fighter and the founding publicity secretary of Bangladesh Centre in London in 1971.

He published a weekly named Probashi in the last 80s and became its editor.

His funeral prayer will be held Wednesday.
