The court has fixed July 24 as the date for the submission of the investigation report on the murder case of Xulhas Mannan and his friend Mahbub Rabbi Tonoy.

The order was given by Dhaka city magistrate, Begum Mahmuda Akhter, as the report was not submitted on June 26, Tuesday.

General diary officer Nurul Islam confirmed it to Bangla Tribune.

Extremists hacked Xulhaz, a local employee of USAid, and Tonoy, a theatre activist, to death at the former’s Kalabagan residence on April 25, 2016.

Xulhas brother Minhaz Mannan Emon filed a murder case with Kalabagab police station while sub-inspector of the same station Mohammad Shameem filed an arms case.

Detective branch inspector Bahauddin Faruqui is investigating the murder case and inspector Nurul Afsar the arms case.
