At least four people sustained burn injuries when a fire broke out at Dhaka’s Comfort Hospital on Sunday (Jun 20) morning.


According to the fire service, the fire was put out by the time a unit reached the hospital in Green Road. The injured was also transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for treatment.
The four injured – Rasel with 62% burns, Foyez with 40% burns, Rakib with 37% and Sujon with 18% burns – were admitted to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH)'s Burn and Plastic Surgery Unit.
Resident Doctor Partha Shankar Pal said all four are in critical condition.
Inspector Bacchu Mia with the Dhaka Medical College Hospital police outpost said the four victims had entered a room on the ground floor of the hospital to renovate it.
“When they flipped a switch, there was a loud explosion and all four were severely burnt,” the police officer told Bangla Tribune.
