Nine police officials have been promoted to the rank of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police.
The Public Security Division of the Home Ministry issued an official order on Wednesday.
The newly promoted officials are Shah Alam of Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Towfiq Mahbub of Special Branch, Krisnapad Roy of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, Bashir Ahmmed of Rangpur Range, Habibur Rahman of Police Headquarters, Md Anwar Hossain of Dhaka Range, AKM Hafiz Akter of Police Headquarters, Khandakar Mohid Uddin of Police Headquarters and Abdul Baten of DMP.
Besides, two DIGs also transferred to new departments. DIG Lutfar Rahman of CID and DIG Mallik Fakhrul Islam of SB were transferred to Airport Armed Police Battalion (APBn) and Tourist Police respectively.
