Most of the militants out on bail are on the run, said Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Director General Benazir Ahmed.

“RAB arrested 512 militants since the Holy Artisan Bakery attack, 300 of whom have been granted bail,” he said on Sunday (Jun 2) while addressing a media call regarding security during Eid-ul-Fitr at the RAB media centre at Kawranbazar.

 “There are risks of terror attacks on global, regional and national level,” he said.

“We are taking security measures based on our own intelligence as well as inputs from other intelligence agencies,” he added.

The RAB chief said that they are prepared to tackle any challenge should it arise.

Calling on the lawyers to not accept cases from militants, he said, “Those who are representing them might also fall victims.”
