DMP chief warns of stern action over excess bus fare

The DMP chief made the remarks at a meeting organised by DMP Traffic (West Division) at Gabtoli Bus Terminal.
“Mobile courts will conduct drives to prevent such malpractice, and no bus will be allowed to pick up passengers from the streets,” he said.
The DMP commissioner also said police and bus owners had formed a coordination committee to ensure that drivers and vehicles have valid documents.
"We have already brought down the number of accidents with collective effort, and want to bring it to zero," he added.
Additional Commissioner (Detective Branch) Abdul Baten, Additional Commissioner (Traffic-South) Mofiz Uddin Ahmed, Bangladesh Bus Truck Owners Association Chairman Babu Romesh Chandra Ghose, Bangladesh Bus-Truck Owners Association General Secretary Abu Raikan, Dhaka Zila Transport Workers' Union President Abbas Uddin, and other senior officials of DMP were present at the program, among others.
