A day after a warrant was out from a Dhaka court, ex-Sonagazi Police Station OC Moazzem Hossain has moved the High Court seeking bail.
On Wednesday (May 29), his counsel filed a petition with the bench of justices Md. Habibul Gani and Mohi Uddin Shamim seeking anticipatory bail in a case filed under the Digital Security Act for filming and circulating a video statement of slain Feni madrasa student Nusrat Jahan Rafi.
On May 27, Bangladesh Cyber Tribunal ordered Moazzem’s arrest after the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) submitted a police report that found evidence of the allegations brought against the suspended inspector.
