A special tribunal has set May 6 for the next hearing in a case filed over the militant attack at the capital’s Holey Artisan Bakery in 2016.
Judge Md Mujibur Rahman of Dhaka Anti-terrorism Special Tribunal fixed the date on Monday (Apr 29) after examining two prosecution witnesses.
Latifur Bari and Saiful Islam testified before the court as prosecution witness number 34 and 35, and were later cross-examined by the defence.
On Jul 1, 2016, militants killed 22 people, mostly foreigners, at teh cafe in the city’s posh area before army commando killed five militants.
Later, police opened a case with Gulshan police under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
On Nov 26, 2018, court framing charges against eight accuse. There are – Jahangir Alam alias Rajib Gandhi, Rakibul Hasan Regan, Rashedul Islam alias Rash, Sohel Mahfuz, Mizanur Rahman alias Boro Mizan,Hadisur Rahman Sagar, Shariful Islam and Mamunur Rashid.
