Customs officials at the Dhaka airport have seized 120 gold bars from a US-Bangla Airlines plane on Saturday (Apr 20).
The gold weighing more than 14 kilograms were found inside one of the washrooms of the aircraft, which was operated for a flight from Bangkok, Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) chief Shahidul Haque told Bangla Tribune.
The estimated value of the seized gold bars is nearly Tk 70 million, said the CIID director general.
“Legal actions have been taken over the gold haul,” he added.
