Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has banned the use of fireworks and carrying all types of explosives and crackers in the capital on the occasion of Shab-e-Barat to be observed Sunday (Apr 21) night.
The ban will come into force from 6pm on Sunday to 6am on Monday to ensure the sanctity and peaceful observation of the holy night, said a statement signed by DMP Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia on Saturday (Apr 20).
The city police imposed the ban under the Section 28 of DMP Police Ordinance-1976, reads the statement.
