Members of the Bangladesh Customs have recovered 4kg gold from a toilet at the Shahjalal International Airport in the capital.
The gold was found around 1am on Sunday (Apr 21), said Dhaka Customs House Deputy Commissioner Othello Chowdhury.
“The abandoned gold was recovered on a tip-off from a toilet at the no. 8 boarding bridge of the airport,” Chowdhury said before adding that the price of the seized gold is approximately 20 million.”
Legal steps will be taken to identify the people behind the smuggling of the found gold, said the Customs official.
