He said, “The audio clip is being collected. A judicial magistrate is probing into the death of Ekram.”
He made the comment while addressing a programme organised by Directorate of Narcotics Control at a University campus at Siddheswari in the capital.
“No killing or accident is out of our investigation. Every killing will be investigated. We will do whatever is needed”, he added.
The home minister said, “The list of drug dealers is very long. Our drive will continue until drug abuse is totally uprooted. But it is not our intention to kill any innocent in the drive. Our intention is to free everybody from drugs.”
Cox’s Bazar’s Teknaf municipality Ward Councillor Ekramul Huq was killed in a ‘shootout’ with RAB on May 26. Later, the elite force claimed the victim as a drug dealer.
However, Ekram’s wife Ayesha Begum on Thursday (May 31) in a press conference alleged that her husband was ‘murdered in cold blood’ in the name of ‘shootout’.
