HC moved for order on ex-ministers to vacate govt residences

Barrister M Human Kabir Pallob, accompanied by four other lawyers, filed the plea with the court on Tuesday (Apr 9).
The parliament Speaker, principal secretary to the Prime Minister's Office, the ministries of finance, law, and housing and public works and the Directorate of Government Accommodation have been made respondents in the matter.
The respondents will have to take necessary action to vacate government-allocated residences occupied by former ministers and retired secretaries.
On Monday, the respondents were served with legal notices to take necessary action by 24 hours.
The court was moved on Tuesday as the deadline expired.
