Tk 10m compensation sought over Barguna student's death

A petition has been filed with the High Court (HC) seeking Tk 10 million in compensation for the family of the student who died after a school ceiling collapsed in Barguna.

The petition also sought Tk 1 million for the medical care of those injured in the accident.

Supreme Court lawyer Humayun Kabir Pallab lodged the writ on Sunday (Apr 7).

The bench of Justice Hassan Arif might hear the matter, Pallab said.

On Saturday (Apr 6), a student died and at least nine other children were injured after the ceiling of Chhot Bogi PK Govt Primary School in Barguna collapsed on them.
