Surendra Kumar Sinha. FILE PHOTOA Dhaka court has fixed May 16 for submitting probe report in the case lodged against former Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha on charges of bribery.
On Sunday (Apr 7), Metropolitan Magistrate Satyabrata Shikder rescheduled it as investigating officer and director of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Syed Iqbal Hossain failed to submit it.
Former BNP leader, who now leads the political outfit Bangladesh National Alliance (BNA), Nazmul Huda filed the case against the former chief justice in September last year with the capital’s Shahbagh Police Station.
He alleged that the then Chief Justice Sinha, being instigated, changed the verdict of a case against him in spite of the fact that the case was earlier disposed of at the High Court.
Chief Justice Sinha also allegedly demanded Tk 20 million from Huda to dispose of the case and another Taka 12.5 million in connection with another case.
