Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board has ordered for the closure of 202 Madrasahs of 40 districts across the country on various irregularities charges including having no student and having no progress for a long time.
Students of those madrasahs have been instructed to get admission to nearby government-approved Madrasahs.
The decision was taken in a meeting at education ministry on Monday. Later, a notice was also issued from the ministry on Wednesday.
Official website of Madrasah Education Board also uploaded the notice.
Chairman of Madrasah Education Board AKM Saifullah told the Bangla Tribune, “Student admission was closed for many days at these Madrasahs.
Their overall activities are not satisfactory also. They were served show cause notice as spot inspection revealed their dire condition.
They have been instructed to shut down as a reply of the show cause notices was not satisfactory.”
