Police have been given three days in custody to quiz the owner of the Supravat Paribahan bus, which ran over Bangladesh University of Professionals over university student Abrar Ahmed Chowdhury.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Baki Billah passed the order on Friday (Apr 5) afternoon after police produced Gopal Chandra Karmakar in it seeking three days in remand, court registrar of the concerned police station Rakibul Islam told Bangla Tribune.
On Thursday (Apr 4), detectives arrested Gopal Nandi Karmakar from a flat at the city’s Mugda area.
He was accused in a case filed over the Abrar’s death in a road accident at Pragati Sarani on Mar 19.
Victim’s father retired brigadier general Arif Ahmed Chowdhury filed the case with the city’s Gulshan police.
Following the lawsuit, police also arrested the bus conductor, driver, and his assistant.
