Fire-fighters have managed to tame the flames at a power distribution company office in Dhaka’s Paribagh on Wednesday.
It took seven fire-fighting units almost an hour to put out the fire, said the Fire Service Control Room.
“The cause of the fire is yet to be found,” said control room Duty Officre Mahfuz Revanze.
No casualties have been reported from the fire that erupted at the offices of the Dhaka Power Distribution Company (DPDC).
The fire was reported around 8:45pm and five fire-fighting units rushed to the scene, joined by two more later.
“Fire-fighters are working at the scene. We have cordoned off the area. No casualties were reported immediately,” Inspector Zafar Ali Biswas told Bangla Tribune soon after the incident.
DPDC Director (operations) Harun Ur Rashid told Bangla Tribune around 9:15pm that the flames were yet to put out.
“We can assess the damages and how the flames started, once the fire is put out. Our engineers are at the scene,” he said.
