A fire has erupted at the power office in Dhaka’s Paribagh.
Fire Service Control Room’s Duty Officer Mahfuz Revanze said that the fire broke out around 8:40pm on Wednesday.
“Five fire-fighting units have rushed to the spot,” he told Bangla Tribune. Any casualties are yet to be reported, said the local Shahbagh police.
“Fire-fighters are working at the scene. We have cordoned off the area. No casualties were reported immediately,” Inspector Zafar Ali Biswas told Bangla Tribune.
The office belongs to the Dhaka Power Distribution Company (DPDC). It’s Director (Operations) Harun Ur Rashid told Bangla Tribune around 9:15pm that the flames were yet to be put out.
“We can assess the damages and how the flames started, once the fire is put out. Our engineers are at the scene,” he said.
