A court in Dhaka has sent BNP National Executive Committee member Nipun Roy Chowdhury and 12 others to jail in a case filed over a clash between BNP activists and police in front of it Naya Paltan headquarters on Nov 14.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shahidul Islam passed the order On Thursday (Nov 22) after investigation officer of the case and Detective Branch inspector Md Quamrul Islam produced them before the court.
At least 50 people, including 23 policemen, were injured in a clash between BNP leaders and activists and law enforcers in front of the party's Nayapaltan central office on the third day of its nomination-form sale on Nov 14.
