Senior BNP leader Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury has been granted bail by the High Court in a case filed under the ICT Act.
The bench of justices Md Rezaul Haque and Zafar Ahmed passed the order after hearing a bail-plea on Sunday (Nov 4).
Advocate Zainul Abedin and Barrister Mahbub Uddin Khokon moved the bail petition.
On Oct 21, a Chattogram court sent the BNP standing committee member to jail after rejecting Khasru’s bail extension plea.
Chattogram city Chhatra League acting General Secretary Jakaria Dastogir filed the case against Khasru over an audio conversation, leaked on Aug 4.
In that conversation, Khasru, a BNP National Standing Committee Member, reportedly instigated a student to carry out sabotage during the students’ road-safety protests.
