The verdict on BNP Leader Salahuddin Ahmed, charged with illegal entry in India has been deferred again.
A court in Shillong has set Otc 15 for announcing the verdict in the case.
Salahuddin Ahmed expressed his disappointment at repeated postponing of the date for the verdict.
He told Bangla Tribune, “This is unfortunate. But, the truth is verdict has been deferred again.”
Salahuddin told this reporter a few days ago, “This is a straightforward case in my opinion. If a vessel lost way to find itself inside another country’s maritime territory, it cannot be termed as illegal trespassing, can it? My entry to India is somewhat like that.”
Even the Indian lawyers have expressed their surprise at the delay of judgment in this case filed against Salauddin on May 11, 2015, after he was found in Shillong.
Salahuddin, a standing committee member of BNP, went missing from his home on May 2015.
