Counter Terrorism Unit’s Cyber Crime division has arrested Fuad Zaman, son-in-law of Bangabandhu killer, Sultan Shariar Rashid Khan.
Zaman was arrested on Wednesday (Sept 12) night from the Hatirjheel area. CTTC deputy commissioner, Nazmul Islam, said he was arrested for posting pejorative comments about Bangabandhu on Facebook.
Convicted killer, Lt. Col. (retd) Rashid, was hanged on Jan 27, 2010. Earlier, Rashid’s daughter Shehnaz Rashid and her husband were arrested from Dhanmondi on 6 August, 2011 with money received from selling yaba.
Rashid’s other daughter, Mehnaz was also arrested for trying to kill MP Fazle Nur Tposh on Sep 24, 2009. Fuad has been arrested under the ICT Act, informed Nazmul of CTTC. He has been sent to court with request for seven days remand.
The case was lodged by Nazmul Hssan Piash of Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology.
Reportedly, on Aug 15 morning, Fuad Zaman posted a Facebook comment justifying the act of the killers.
In that post, he called Bangabandhu an autocrat and lauded the killing.
