High court has ordered the resolution of arrested photographer Shahidul Alam’s bail hearing by Tuesday (Sept 11).

The order was given by a joint bench, comprising justices Md Rezaul Huq and Abu Taher Md Saifur Rahman.

Hearing on behalf of Shahidul Alam was carried out by barrister Sara Hossain with support from barrister Jyotirmoy Barua.

On Sept 4, a dual bench of justices, Md Ruhul Kuddus and Khondokar Diliruzzaman, expressed ‘embarrassment’ during the bail hearing of Alam.

Afterwards, as per law, the case went to the chief justice who formed another bench for the hearing.

Shahidul Alam was arrested in a case filed under Section 57 of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Act on Aug 5 night, few hours after he had given an interview to Qatar-based television channel Al Jazeera on the student protests for road safety.
