The Dhaka Road Transport Owners Association made the announcement at a media call on Wednesday.

Transport owners in Dhaka say they will not operate buses on the basis of a daily contract with drivers rather include them on monthly payroll.
At a media call on Wednesday, the Dhaka Road Transport Owners Association made the announcement, when it said they support the proposed Road Transport Act 2018.
“The owners and workers fully support the new law, which is way more updated from the 1983 law. However, we find the financial penalties high and will propose to revise it. Nonetheless, we support it,” said it General Secretary Khandaker Enayet Ullah.
He said that no buses will be operated on the basis of daily contracts from Thursday.
“This practice leads to reckless driving and accidents. We will not allow it anymore. The companies not complying will have to face actions from the association.”
Transport companies operate buses on contractual agreements with drivers rather paying them monthly wages.
