Bangladesh confirmed its second death from coronavirus that also infected four more, raising the total cases to 24 in the South Asian country.
Health Minister Zahid Maleque reported the second death on Saturday at a press briefing after an inter-ministerial meeting at Directorate General of Health Services(DGHS).
Currently, 50 people are in institutional quarantine, he further said.
The country’s first death from coronavirus was reported on Mar 18.
On Mar 8, the IEDCR announced for the first time the detection of three Covid-19 patients in Bangladesh.
The fast spreading coronavirus, declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO), has claimed more than 11,000 lives and infected over 276,000 people across the globe, according to worldometer.
