The Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has been admitted to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) on Friday (Jan 31) morning.
Quader, also the general secretary of Awami League, was admitted to the cardiology department of the hospital with chest pain around 10.30am, said Quader’s personal assistant Abdul Motin told Bangla Tribune.
According to the hospital sources, Quader was undergoing treatment at the coronary care unit (CCU) under the supervision of Cardiology department chief Dr Ali Ahsan.
The senior ruling party leader was airlifted to Singapore following a cardiac arrest on Mar 3 last year.
He was admitted there at Mount Elizabeth Hospital and stayed for over two months for better treatment.
