Biman plane to fly for Wuhan to airlift Bangladeshis

Over 500 Bangladeshi students are trapped inside Wuhan city in Hubei province of China.A special flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines will leave Dhaka at 3pm on Friday (Jan 31), to bring back 341 Bangladeshis from Wuhan province in China. The flight is supposed to come back to Dhaka at night.
After coming back, the passengers will be quarantined at the Kurmitola Hajj camp, Managing Director of Biman Md Mokabbir Hossain told Bangla Tribune.
“We have completed all formalities to bring them back,” he said.
The plane leaving Dhaka is a 777-300 capable of carrying 419 passengers.
But after coming back, they will be kept in quarantine by Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control and Research (IEDCR).
The plane will also be fumigated after returning from Wuhan.
Director of IEDCR, Dr. Meerjady Sabrina Flora said: “We are hoping that none of the returnees is affected with Coronavirus but even then we will have all facilities at the Hajj camp where medical teams will be present. The returnees will be kept at the centre for 14 days for tests and observation and then allowed to go back home.”
