The government has appointed Shahabuddin Ahmed as Bangladesh Ambassador to Japan.
A notification was issued by the Public Administration Ministry in this regard on Wednesday (Jan 1).
It said that post-retirement leave (PRL) of Shahabuddin has been cancelled and he will serve as the envoy for three years.
A former secretary to the Food Ministry, Shahabuddin went on PRL on Dec 20 last year.
The post of ambassador in Bangladesh Mission, Tokyo fell vacant as former envoy Rabab Fatima moved to New York as Bangladesh’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations.
