Health Minister Zahid Maleque has said that due to the rise of Aedes mosquitoes, Dengue has seen a surge.
“Aedis mosquitoes breed like Rohingyas and therefore, it’s difficult to control them,” said the minister at the seminar Dengue: changing trends and management, held by Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Thursday (Jul 25).
"These mosquitoes are sophisticated and healthy, living in homes," he added.
Aedes mosquitoes are like the Rohingyas, whose numbers have risen after coming to Bangladesh, said the minister.
Terminating mosquitoes is the duty of the city corporation, not the ministry of health, he commented.
