Official talks between Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her South Korean counterpart Lee Nak-yon began at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) on Sunday (Jul 14).
“The official talks between the two leaders began at the Prime Minister’s Office around 4.40 pm,” a source at the PMO told state news agency BSS.
Prior to official talks, the source said, the two premiers had a tête-à-tête at the same place, says the report
Earlier, Hasina received Lee at the Tiger Gate of the PMO at 4:15 pm.
After the talks, Bangladesh and South Korea will sign a number of instruments in the fields of trade and investment, diplomacy and culture in the presence of the two prime ministers, BSS reported citing foreign ministry sources.
The instruments are likely to be signed between Bangladesh Investment Development Authority and Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA); and the Korea National Diplomatic Academy of South Korea and the Foreign Service Academy of Bangladesh, officials said.
“The two countries will also sign a document for cultural exchange,” the sources added.
