The railway authorities are unable to tackle the complete disarray in train schedule to the discomfort of the passengers.
Trains are being delayed for several reasons including rain but authorities are confident that the situation can be brought under control soon.
A spot visit of Kamalapur Railway Station showed that the Rajshahi bound train which was supposed to leave the platform at 6 am left three-and-half hours late.
The Chilahata bound Nilsagar Express which was supposed to leave Kamalapur at 8 am left the station at 11:50 am. The same was for Khulna bound Shundarban Express which was delayed almost one-and-half hour.
Sajeda Akhter who bought an advanced ticket for Jun 2 after toiling in line for 24 hours was frustrated at the delay in schedule.
“It’s unfortunate that we have to suffer even after buying the tickets with so much hassle. If the authorities were more sincere it wouldn’t have happened,” she said.
Kamalapur Railway Station Manager Aminul Hoque said that other than a few trains most of them were leaving on time.
“We are trying our best to ensure that the trains leave on time,” he said and added that they were trying their best to reduce the suffering of passengers.
