Education Minister Nurul Islam NahidNew educational institutions will be brought under monthly pay order (MPO) scheme although there is no separate allocation in the proposed budget in this regard.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid made the comment Monday in reply to a query over the ongoing movement of school teachers for MPO enlistment, while attending a progarmme at the Secretariat in the capital.
Calling upon the school teachers to go back to home withholding their movement, the minister said, “It is possible to enlist new educational institutions under MPO scheme from the total allocation of education ministry.”
“In the budget, many issues are not separately mentioned. I have already talked to the finance minister about MPO-enlistment; the prime minister also is informed about it. We have started preparations regarding new MPO-enlistment,” he also said.
Mentionable, Finance Minister previously assured that there would be separate allocation for MPO-enlistment in the budget. But the issue was not addressed in the budget.
As a result, private school teachers took to the streets demanding separate allocation for MPO-enlistment since June 10.
