Biman Bangladesh Airlines has formed a probe committee over the crash landing of its Dash-8 aircraft in Myanmar’s Yangon late on Wednesday (May 8).
The six-member committee led by Captain Shoeb Chowdhury, chief of Biman’s flight safety, will investigate over the incident, said Biman’s General Manager for PR Shakil Meraj at a media briefing on Thursday (May 9) morning.
However, the Biman Bangladesh flight, which was sent to bring back the injured Bangladeshi passengers and crews, landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka around 4.50am on Thursday (May 9).
The flight reached Dhaka with fresh passengers instead of carrying the injured, said Meraj.
The aircraft skidded off the runway while landing at the Yangon International Airport amid bad weather around 6.30pm (BdST).
The Flight BG060 left Dhaka at 3.45pm on Wednesday and was scheduled to land at Yangon Airport around 6pm (BdST).
It was carrying 29 passengers and four crew among them 19 passenger were injured in the incident while 18 were taken to the hospital. Four have left the hospital after taking initial treatment.

Bangladesh High Commissioner to Myanmar Manjurul Karim told BSS over the phone that he directed his mission officials in Yangon to provide all kinds of support to the passengers.
Representatives from Myanmar’s Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) and Aircraft Accident Investigation Branch (AIIB) went to the crash site last night.
