The results of this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and its equivalent examinations published on Monday (May 6) showing 82.20 pass percentage under the 10 education boards.
The chairmen of the education boards handed over the results to Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni at the International Mother Language Institute in Dhaka on Monday morning.
Later, she announced the results at a media briefing.
A total 105,594 students secured highest grade GPA-5 in the examinations.
A total of 2,135,333 students – 1,064,892 female and 1,070, 441 male – appeared in the SSC and equivalent examinations this year under the 10 education boards.
Of them, 1,694,652 students appeared in the SSC examinations under the eight general educational boards.
In 2018, the average pass rate was 77.77 percent as a total of 2,031,889 students, including 1,023,212 male and 1,008,687 female, appeared in the examinations.
Like previous years, results can be known through sending SMS from any mobile operator. To know the results, one will have to write in such way (SSC [space] first three letters of respective boards [space] and then have to write roll number [space] 2019) and send to 16222.
Besides, one can get results visiting websites of respective education boards.
Under the general education boards, this year’s theoretical tests started on Feb 2, and ended on Feb 26 while the practical tests began on Feb 27 and continued till Mar 5.
Under the Technical Education Board, the theoretical tests started on Feb 2 and ended on Feb 23 while the practical tests began on Feb 24 and ended Feb 28.
Usually, chiefs of the education boards hand over the summaries to the prime minister. As Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is on an official visit to the United Kingdom, the results have been handed over to the education minister.
