Bangladesh prepared to minimise cyclone damage: Govt

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal speaking at a cabinet committee meeting on Thursday (May 2). The district administration, police, fire services and all related authorities at the coastal areas are prepared to minimize the damage cyclone ‘Fani’ might bring with it, said Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal.
“The people of the coastal areas are familiar with natural disasters,” he told the media on Thursday (May 2).
He added that the authorities were coordinating with the locals to minimise damage.
The minister said that all troops including Fire Service, Ansar, police, Border Guard Bangladesh have been directed to prepare for the cyclone that’s likely to make landfall in Bangladesh by Friday (May 3).
