Awami League chief and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said: “We wanted a powerful opposition but BNP is responsible for their debacle and state of disarray.”
“They gave more than 600 party nominations for 300 seats and carried out a nomination trade.”
The PM made the comments at the Taj Hotel in London while meeting UK based senior leaders of AL late on Wednesday (May 1).
The prime minister left for London on Wednesday morning at 9:15 and reached London at UK time 3:55pm. Bangladesh high commissioner to the UK, Saida Muna Tasneem, welcomed her at the airport.
The PM is accompanied in the trip by private enterprise and investment adviser Salman F Rahman and foreign minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen.
The PM urged expatriate Bangladeshi leaders to spread the ideals of Bangabandhu among the British Bangladeshi community.
