The Election Commission (EC) says it will start updating the voter list from Apr 23, which will continue until May 13.
The decision came on Monday (Apr 8) at the meeting of the 47th Commission Meeting, EC Joint Secretary SM Asaduzzaman told the media.
A house-to-house survey would be done to update information, he said.
According to EC officials, apart from signing up new voters, information of citizens born between Jan 1, 2001 and Jan 1, 2004 will be also collected, who will automatically included in the list once they are eligible to exercise their franchises,
Citizens have already filled up applications to register as voters and awaiting to receive the new smart National ID cards do not need to provide their information in the upcoming survey, said officials.
The electoral roll was last updated two years ago, when the number of voters increased to 104.2 million.
