Govt orders to identify risky school buildings

On Saturday (Apr 6), a student died and five other children were injured after the ceiling of school building in the southern district of Barguna’s Amtali Upazila collapsed on them.

The government has ordered the district primary education officers to identify risky buildings of state-run primary schools across the country a day after a student was killed as the ceiling of a school building collapsed in Barguna.
The officers have been asked to report within 15 workdays, said an office order of the Primary and Mass Education Ministry issued on Sunday (Apr 8).
Assistance can be sought from the upazila engineers, local government division to identify the risky buildings if necessary, it reads.
