The nation will observe a one-minute blackout at 9pm on Monday in memory of the martyrs of the genocide carried out by the Pakistani Army on the “Black Night” of Mar 25, 1971.

Mar 25 night is one of the horrific night for Bangali nation and to remember that night, the countrywide blackout program will be observed from 9pm to 9.01pm on Monday (Mar 25) night, officials of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs, which organized the programme, said.

All preparations have been taken to execute the programme.

“Our future generation must know the gruesomeness of the night of Mar 25, 1971 and the Blackout programme will make us understand what a horrible night it was,” Liberartion War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Huq told Bangla Tribune.

Security measures will be beefed up during the programme, Police said.
