Law Minister Anisul Haque said Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha will not be able to take charge until the eleven specific allegations have been resolved. He said, "Five judges of the bench said that they will not sit in court along with him till the complaints against him find false. So it is obvious that he cannot take charge after returning to the country because he cannot continue the bench alone.’
In reply to a query at a press conference organized by the law ministry in the Secretariat on Sunday, he said these words.
The law minister said, "The 11 allegations against Chief Justice SK Sinha, are related to corruption. Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) is the authority to investigate these. The ACC will inquire about these matters. If any corruption is found then a case will be filed. After the investigation, the President will take a decision on this matter. Everything will be in accordance with the law. Nobody is above the law.”
He further said, "Supreme Judicial Council has been restored in the Sixteenth Amendment. I think this is not the matter of Supreme Judicial Council. Until the 11 complaints against the Chief Justice are not resolved, the problem will not be solved.”
Anisul Haque said, "Recently some guests in private TV talk show mentioned me as a liar. Actually, those who said these are a fool. Those foolish persons have this practice of telling lie, not mine. My father late advocate Sirajul Haque did not lie in court in any case. I am his son & I never tell lie. If the Chief Justice wrote a letter to the President, we do not get suspicious about this.”
